HARASSMENT & BULLYING IN EGYPT

Against Harassment Campaign in Egypt

Is there bullying in Egypt? Is there harassment in Egypt? These are some of the most searched topics online when it comes to travelling to this country. I have been living in Egypt for 7 years and I can tell you that YES there is bullying, there is harassment. But I come now to ask you: show me that country that doesn't have any of those. Bullying and harassment are everywhere in the world. The important thing is what these countries do to prevent, to stop these forms of abuse.

Egypt has ongoing campaign against bullying, girls' harassment and abuse in general. I have seen on TV playing these videos that are have an impact on anyone taking a look at those short movies.

First, I have seen this video that I hope it reaches the boys/men in Egypt that have even once tried or performed any form of harassment on girls/women. For any man who thinks to "pss pss" any girl or throw any dirty words, he should consider that the girl can be his sister, his daughter or his mother.

This is another campaign that Egypt starts to discourage bullying under the form "I was just joking" or "I was only laughing, why you're upset?"
The campaign and the video ad are so well done and emotional, especially because we all were victims of a form of bullying in a certain point in our lives. This happens not only in Egypt, but everywhere. Women or men, kids or adults we all faced bullying and it's our duty to stop it and not perpetuate this type of abuse.
I love these campaigns that Egypt government has lately, same the one against girls harassment. I deeply hope that Egyptian people watching these videos will understand the idea and follow the advice.
Stop bullying and don't accept it when it happens to you. Report it to the responsible authority.
